Sharon Townshend

Sharon is a rehabilitation and support coordinator at CFG, having joined our client support team in 2023. With a background in occupational therapy, Sharon has vast experience supporting both adults and children with complex needs, having a positive impact on their health and wellbeing, and quality of life.

Sharon has over 10 years’ experience of working as an occupational therapist, and over 20 years’ experience working with children and adults who have complex needs. This experience means Sharon has the skills and knowledge to undertake assessments and interventions for people after serious life-changing injuries, including brain and spinal injury and serious orthopaedic injuries.

A significant part of Sharon’s role at CFG is to ensure support is in place as early as possible. Sharon will meet with injured people and their families face to face to understand their needs and how she can best solve any issues they may be facing.

Sharon also supports with discharge planning and getting people home safely as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Knowledge and experience in functional occupational therapy assessments.
  • Understanding of discharge processes from hospital to specialist treatment centres and home environments.
  • Interest in specialist equipment and adaptations to improve mobility and independence.
