Today, we are launching our newest offices and a new highly-regarded team based in East Anglia as part of our purpose to help more people affected by injury together.
Six new members of our team join the business today at our new office in Fornham, near Bury St Edmunds, and a consulting office in Cambridge, with three more colleagues to follow them, including the partner who will lead the new team.
It comes just a week after we announced the promotion of six of our colleagues, including two new partners, after a busy 2020 which also saw us launch a new Court of Protection and private client service as well as new partnerships in the North East and Yorkshire with spinal injury and road safety charities.
From today, our new East Anglian team for the purpose-led firm includes serious injury specialist and partner Mick Upton, senior associate Siobhan Thacker, associate chartered legal executive Tim Gleave and colleagues Diane Hilton, Sarah Barrett and Lisa Patterson.
They’ll be joined from May onwards by partner Hannah Clarke, the current head of the team which specialises in serious brain and spinal cord injury cases, and specialist client service managers Caroline Trinder and Gillian Webber, who support clients and families alongside the legal team.
Our CEO Richard Clark says: “This is another exciting day for us all and adds some significant specialist skills to our existing high-quality team which will help us deliver our purpose as a business – helping those affected by injury together.
“The East of England is one of the areas where we see real opportunities to make a positive difference to the way injured people and those around them are supported post-injury. The response we’ve had from local organisations already to us being a firm specialising in this area has been fantastic and we can’t wait to work with them more closely.”
He added: “The past 12 months have been challenging for all firms but we’ve been able to grow our business and continue to do things differently. Today is another important step for us. It’s the next stage of our expansion but I don’t expect it to be the last piece of positive news for our team.”
The new team collectively adds more than 100 years’ serious and catastrophic injury legal experience to our existing specialist team, which has also this year seen David Hilton join as a partner to launch its Court of Protection and private client offering along with serious injury partner Matt Evans.
Associate Philip Cooper and new Head of IT and Business Improvement Wayne Lord have also been added to the CFG team as it continued to expand and recruit through lockdown and the various Covid restrictions.
Last week, the firm announced that solicitors Emily Kalwak and Vicky Whitney had been promoted to partner, with solicitor Ashwini Kamath and risk and compliance expert Katie Carroll moving up to be senior associates. Marketing specialist Emma Dugdale and business intelligence analyst Faye Roberts both become associates.
